Sharing Teaching Experiences and Resources For Chinese Language?

Cypress Books, together with Sinolingua London and Xihaha Children Books, organised a Chinese language event, themed "Sharing Teaching Experiences and Resources" on 19th June 2010 in London. The event turns out to be a massive success with over 130 teachers, with very positive feedback from participants.
This event was led by experienced teachers, examinors and authros. The agenda covered:
  • New GCSE specification and teaching
    • New GCSE specification and teaching
      • Speaker: Hua Yan, Head of Mandarin, Hummersknott School and Language College
    • AQA Chinese GCSE
      • Speaker: Jingjing Zhao, Head of Mandarin, Brighton College
  • AS/A2 specification and teaching
    • The Transition from GCSE to GCE
      • Speaker: Xiaoming Zhang, Head of Mandarin, Wycombe Abbey School
  • Primary school Chinese teaching and resources
    • Teaching Children Mandarin through Games and Stories
      • Speaker: Maisim Merry, Headteacher of Buckingham Chinese School

This event was a great opportunity to:
  • Liaise with your fellow teachers for professional and personal networking
  • Discussion after each workshop to share your teaching concerns and experiences
  • Explore primary and secondary school teaching resources
  • Browse and purchase from an extensive range of teaching materials, supplement books and multimedia Mandarin products with a generous 20% discount for all orders and up to 50% discount for selected titles.
    This was one of the best chances to order new semesters teaching materials.
